She attended the Norfolk Division of William and Mary. She retired from what is now Sentara Hospital where she worked in the administrative offices. She was a confirmed believer in blood donations and gave many gallons. She also served as a registrar when she was unable to continue as a giver. She and John were members of Meals on Wheels and Portsmouth Community Concerts. Charlotte was a 50 year plus member of the Womans Club of Portsmouth. After retirement they traveled the United State, Europe, Russia and Jerusalem. The best thrill of all their vacations was a “white water rapids” trip through the Grand Canyon.
A private burial will held at a later date in Churchand Baptist Church Cemetery. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel is handling arrangements.
Charlotte asks that in her memory you bring loving kindness to all which will make the world a better place and indeed love your neighbor as yourself as recorded in James 2:8.
