SUFFOLK – Alvin Lamonea, 74, of the Riverfront community, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in a Norfolk hospital. A native of Jersey City, NJ and longtime resident of Wall Township, NJ, he was a respected and hard-working member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church. He also served on the board of Hope and Happiness, a local organization that provides recreational and social opportunities for the special needs population. Alvin was retired from the retail sales industry, in which he was best known as the proprietor of Trinkets ‘n Things, a card and gift shop located in Bradley Beach, NJ.
Survivors include his wife, Alzbeth “Betty” A. Lamonea; two sons, Michael K. Lamonea of Chesapeake and Kenneth T. Lamonea of Suffolk; a sister, Estelle Ugolini of Toms River, NJ; and two granddaughters.
A contemporary memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 8th, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church by the Reverends Brent Seusy and Carl LeMon. The family is being assisted by Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel.
