U.S. Veteran

VIRGINIA BEACH- Chief Daniel Aniceto Gilmette, 62, died March 3, 2013. A native of New Bedford, MA, he was a retired U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Robin A. Gilmette; three daughters, Layla G. Certain of Montana, Shaylynn D. Kernutt of Norfolk, and Amberlynn A. Davis of Portsmouth; a son, Anthony Garrrett of Windsor; a brother, Charles Gilmette of Mass.; two nieces, Betty Rodrigues and Susan Netinho; and eight grandchildren, Ashley Fuss, Mickaela Certain, Hailey Certain, Blake Davis, Kayleigh Davis, Alexander Cisneros, Adriana Cisneros and Elijah Jereb.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Mar. 7, at 4 PM in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel.
